PlayStation 4

Game company Sony Interactive Entertainment just released the newest firmware update for current-gen console PlayStation 4.

The newest increment of the firmware software, update 7.55, is now available to download. The file size of the update is a bit hefty with 471 MB download size. It does not have any special notes about new features or fixes that it will introduce.

PS4 owners can download this automatically or manually do it on the settings. They will be notified of the new update once they boot up the system next time.

Firmware 8.00 is currently in beta testing right now. This could also mean the final major update for the PS4.
