PlayStation 4 New Firmware Update Released

PlayStation 4

Game company Sony Interactive Entertainment has rolled the newest firmware update for the current-gen console PlayStation 4.

While everyone is closely looking at the next-gen console PlayStation 5, the PS4 also gets some love with a new firmware update. This has been labeled firmware 8.01.

As per usual, SIE does not give detailed patch notes for their system updates. And again, it says “This system software update improves system performance.” It seems this note will continue with the PS5 like a tradition of sorts.

The firmware update is only 470mb in installation size and should automatically download and install on the console when players power it up.
