PlayStation Plus Collection to be Discontinued Soon

Get them quick or regret it later.

It has been officially confirmed that Sony Interactive Entertainment will be doing away with the PlayStation Plus Collection promo later this year.

PlayStation Plus Collection Promo Ends Soon

According to the latest post on the PlayStation Blog revealing the newest PS Plus February 2023 lineup, SIE provided an update on the upcoming status of the PlayStation Plus Collection. This was a big offer to PS Plus members who could afford the PS5 in 2020 as they would claim various free titles from the PS4 game library and make it playable on their new PS5 console. It was one of the reasons many PS5 owners opted to subscribe to PS Plus right away so they could get free games.

Offers Ends After May 9

On May 9, 2023, the PS Plus Collection will no longer be offered to players. This does not mean that the free games offered will not be available for access since the promo is no more. As long as they are PS Plus subscribers, they can still gain access to these games indefinitely if they have redeemed them by the deadline. After that date, there will be no more chance to redeem them.

It seems SIE will now bolster its PS Plus Games Catalog and Monthly games more instead of relying on the initial promo. Its allure has already faded, so it would be better to shut that down and move on with the new ones.
