A new lineup of free games for PS4 and PS5 will be revealed by Sony Interactive Entertainment in a new announcement a few weeks later. Just as always, Sirus Gaming will be giving our PS Plus Essential October 2022 predictions of games that will be added to the game library soon.
SIE will be sharing with us the new PS Plus Essential 2022 free games next week, around September 27, 2022. Players who have paid for the PS Plus subscription at least on the Essential tier can get these free games. Also, note that the release date might change depending on how things go. It will not be that long to wait for these games to be revealed so they will have to wait for a bit to download the free games in the upcoming month.
Next month is October 2022 and that means it is going to be Halloween. This also means the theme for next month will be more on horror games that were popular a few years ago. That said, it will be easier to speculate the PS Plus Essential October 2022 free games.
PS Plus Essential October 2022 Free Games Predictions

Resident Evil 2 Remake – Essential PS5, PS4
If SIE is going to follow the Halloween theme, then it would be rude not to celebrate with the Resident Evil franchise. Resident Evil 2 Remake, one of the most popular remade titles of the RE series, is a must for PS Plus Essential as an addition. Since Resident Evil 4 Remake is getting hyped and Resident Evil Village is getting a new expansion, again, this would be a great way to celebrate.
Resident Evil 3 Remake – Essential PS5, PS4
To top it all, why not add Resident Evil 3 Remake to the mix as well? While this game is not so popular due to how short it was when everyone completed it, it still reminded the fans of the original, but now with next-gen visuals, new gameplay mechanics, and so much more. It will also be in line with the Halloween theme too.
The Last of Us Remastered – Essential PS4
Another awesome game to have, this time on the PS4 is The Last of Us Remastered. With The Last of Us Part I already available, the remastered version of the original PS3 game would be a great addition to the PS Plus Essential free games. Join Joel and Ellie again with the remastered visuals and faster frame rates. Nothing screams Halloween like looking at the Clickers and other monsters that appear in this game.
The Evil Within – Essential PS4 (Honorable Mention)
While this could be a longshot, but it is worth mentioning the awesome horror game The Evil Within to be added to the PS Plus Essential lineup. From the mind of the original maker of the Resident Evil franchise, Shinji Mikami, this game literally screams horror in every corner. Crazy monsters everywhere looking to nab the protagonist and murder him in many ways possible, The Evil Within would be a good addition to the game library.
