    Details of the PlayStation 5 have finally been brought to the light. Thanks to Deep Dive, Sony was able to share just how powerful this upcoming console can be for everyone to see. So just how powerful is the PS5 exactly?

    Specs have been revealed by non other than the system architect of PlayStation himself, Mark Cerny. And he reveals just how potentially powerful the next generation can be. Take a look…

    • CPU: AMD Zen 2-based CPU with 8 cores at 3.5GHz (Variable Frequency)
    • GPU: 10.28 TFLOPs, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz (Variable Frequency)
    • GPU architecture: Custom RDNA 2
    • Memory interface: 16GB GDDR6 / 256-bit
    • Memory bandwidth: 448GB/s
    • Internal storage: Custom 825GB SSD
    • IO throughput: 5.5GB/s (raw), typical 8-9GB/s (Compressed)
    • Expandable storage: NVMe SSD slot
    • External storage: USB HDD support
    • Optical drive: 4K UHD Blu-ray drive

    The PlayStation 5 will be no short of a beast when it comes to gaming. But what you may be really looking forward to is the backwards compatibility–revealed by Sony that almost 100 of the top games for the PS4 are playable the moment PS5 launches. But as to whether or not PS5 features full backwards compatibility has yet to be announced.
