Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 in their PS5 versions just got spotted online and it could mean something is happening soon.
A lot of fans of Resident Evil have been concerned of the old gen versions of RE2, 3, and 7. Since two of them are remade versions of the original ones and the latter is pretty much new, everyone thought they would get next-gen versions soon. They would definitely look immensely better on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles with ray tracing and all that bling. Surprisingly, CAPCOM has not made a move and only Resident Evil Village got a glam up when it was announced on the recent State of Play.
It seems CAPCOM was actually doing something behind the scenes and was just waiting to surprise us in a near-future event. Someone caught their recent upload of data online though.
PlayStation Game Size, a Twitter account known to reveal the download size and platforms of unannounced PlayStation games and updates, shared the details it found on the PlayStation Database. The account spotted sightings of the three games on the database, which was suspicious. Two of them have download sizes too.
- Resident Evil 2 (PS5) – Download Size: 21.834 GB (Without Update)
- Resident Evil 3 (PS5) – Download Size: 20.480 GB (Without Update)
- Resident Evil 7 Biohazard (PS5) – No Download Size
This could only mean the announcement of the next-gen versions of these three titles might be announced soon. There is an upcoming CAPCOM Showcase, which is scheduled to air on June 13, 2022 so it could be announced there. Note that there are still no official statements from the company to confirm this so take this with a grain of salt for now.
