Game studio Housemarque and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment have come to a decision to push back the release date of upcoming video game Returnal.
Both publisher and developer just announced that the upcoming game will be delayed to April 30. This was announced just recently on the official Twitter account of SIE.
According to them, the reason for the delay was to give the development team “extra time to continue to polish the game to the level of quality players expect from Housemarque.”
After the messy launch f controversial video game Cyberpunk 2077, more and more game studios and publishers are moving their releases of their games to another date. Maybe, they do not want to have that kind of negative feedback that game studio CD Projekt RED got after rushing the launch on Holiday 2020.
This is a good opportunity for the developers to make more changes and possibly squash out all of the bugs before launching the game.
Returnal will now release on April 30 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
