Usugumo Dayu is in quite a predicament, she has lost her cats and wants your help finding them. Help Usugumo retrieve all lost cats in Rise of the Ronin. These little fur balls are used to being cared for, so she fears they may be unable to fend for themselves. The problem is that she has 100 cats under her care, 39 of whom are lost somewhere in the Yokohama region.
In this guide, I’ll tell you where you can find all the cats in the Yokohama Region. And special conditions you need to do as you approach some of them.
How to find Cats in Rise of the Ronin?
There are a couple of ways to find cats out on the map. The first way is to walk around the district. The more you walk around, the more the map becomes known to you and cat locations become visible as well. The second way is to reach a Bond level 3 with that district. Upon reaching level 3, all cat locations in the district will be known to you.

All Cat Locations in Yokohama in Rise of the Ronin
Yoshida-Shiden cat locations
There are 3 cats in Yoshida-Shiden district:
- North of the village close to the Veiled Edge Banner – Sleeping cat. Runs away when startled.
- Northern edge of the district – Cat is next to a shack next to the river.
- Western temple with the Six Lanterns – On top of the temple. Requires climbing up the rope to reach it.
Maita cat locations
There are 3 cats in Maita district:
- Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine – Cat is next to the broken bridge.
- Maita Castle Ruins – Cat is found along the outer walls.
- Southwest corner of the district – Sleeping cat. Runs away when startled.
Yamashita cat location
There is 1 cat in Yamashita district:
- White brick house a block from Yamashita gate – Orange cat chilling in a corner next to a group of foreigners. You can casually walk in.
Yamate cat locations
There are 2 cats in Yamate district:
- Cliff high above the coast in the Northern reaches of the district – Cat chilling at the base of a tree.
- Shack across the dirt road where the Yamate observation tower is located – Cat chilling in front of the shack.
Honmoku cat locations
There are 2 cats in Honmoku district:
- Honmoku village – Cat on the rooftop near the apothecary.
- Western edge of the Honmoku village – Cat on the rooftop.
Miyozaki cat locations
There are 2 cats in Miyozaki district:
- At the back of the pleasure district main hall – A sleeping calico cat. Runs away when startled.
- Slums in the Western part of the district – Cat in a field in between shanty houses.
Ishikawa cat locations
There are 2 cats found in Ishikawa district:
- Ishikawa watchtower in the center of the district – Sleeping cat. Runs away when startled.
- Small settlement Northwest of the district – Black cat inside a house.
Honcho cat locations
There are 3 cats found in Honcho district:
- Bell tower South of the district – Brown cat chilling on a ledge of the bell tower. Requires a glider and grappling hook to reach the edge of the bell tower.
- Docks North of the district – Cat chilling at the end of the docks.
- British embassy compound – Cat inside one of the white houses within the compound. Runs when startled.
Ota cat locations
There are 2 cats found in this district:
- Bandit village Southwest of the district – White cat on top of an elevated platform. Requires glider to reach.
- Tower on the side of a hill in the Eastern part of the district – Orange cat on top of the observation tower. Requires grappling hook to reach.
Nakamura cat location
There is 1 cat in the Nakamura district:
- Southern tip of the district – Black cat on a platform next to a dam.
Bashamichi cat locations
There are 2 cats found in Bashamichi district:
- Temple tower on the North side of the district facing the bay – Cat found on the upper floor of the tower. Requires grappling hook to reach.
- Lower ledge outside the temple grounds – Cat found next to the tree.
Tobe cat locations
There are 2 cats found in Tobe district:
- Tobe village – Brown cat chilling in the observation tower. Require grappling hook to reach.
- Hillside Pagoda – Cat sleeping on the second-tier roof. Runs when startled.
Noge cat locations
There are 2 cats found in Noge district:
- Seaside village – White cat chilling inside a shack.
- Storehouses West of the district along the trail that leads to the Nogeyama Fudo Temple – Cat inside an abandoned storehouse.
Hiranuma-Shinden cat locations
There are 2 cats found in Hiranuma-Shinden district:
- Kanagawa Commissioner’s Office – White cat in the grassy back areas of the main commissioner’s office.
- Lakeside village – Grey cat chilling at the base of the massive, ancient tree.
Sodegaura cat location
There is 1 cat found in Sodegaura district:
- Tower next to the beach – Black cat on the upper floor roof of the tower. Requires grappling hook to reach.
Hodogaya cat locations
There are 3 cats found in Hodogaya district:
- Hodogaya Post
- Cat hidden in a hut on the Western edge of the outpost.
- Hodogaya Post
- Orange cat chilling on a riverside rock South of the outpost.
- Mountain hut near Hodogaya Post
- Black and white cat chilling on top of the roof.
Shibo cat locations
There are 2 cats in Shibo district:
- On top of a hill where gliding training takes place – Cat chilling under the Shinto gate.
- Village at the heart of the district – Sleeping at the front door of a house along the main road. Runs when startled.
Kariba cat locations
There are 2 cats found in Kariba district:
- Hillside Manor Southwest of the district – Cat sitting on the first-floor roof facing South.
- Large hill near the center of the district – Cat sitting on a ledge facing north near the dirt road.
Kanagawa cat locations
There are 2 cats found in Kanagawa district:
- Kanagawa Post – Grey cat chilling inside the observation tower. Requires both the glider and grappling hook to reach.
- Waterfalls at the northern tip of the district – White cat chilling on the rocks next to the waterfall.
Usugumo Dayu doesn’t expect you to do all the leg work for nothing. The more cats that return to her, the more items will become available for purchase from her. In case you don’t know, apart from being a courtesan, she also happens to be a capable merchant. Eventually, Dayu will propose starting a business with you called the Cat Concierge, after you have returned enough cats.
