A Legendary Search for the Skull of Destiny is one of the newest voyages that can be taken in Sea of Thieves. As the name suggests, it puts players on a voyage in search for the Skull of Destiny, a powerful ritual skull that is imbued with the Flames of Fate.

Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to complete the A Legendary Search for the Skull of Destiny Voyage in Sea of Thieves.

Where to purchase the A Legendary Search for the Skull of Destiny voyage

The A Legendary Search for the Skull of Destiny voyage can be purchased from either the Pirate Lord or from any Shipwright as a Pirate Legend for 100 doubloons.

Once the voyage has been purchased and voted on, as a captain, you will receive the Wayfinder of Legends, a special compass that always points to the direction of the Skull of Destiny. This compass works the same way as any other compass in the game.

Step 1: Follow the Wayfinder of Legends

As you embark on your voyage, take out your Wayfinder of Legends and it will show you the general direction of the Skull of Destiny. You will see that the Wayfinder will be swinging slowly, but it should still point towards the direction of the skull. Eventually, you will see that the swinging gets narrower, signaling that you are getting closer to the skull.

Step 2: Dig up the Skull of Destiny

You will eventually reach a small island where the Skull of Destiny has been buried. Land on the island and keep following the Wayfinder. There will be aggressive skeletons in the island which you can defeat or ignore. You will know if you have found the spot of the skull once the Wayfinder starts spinning around.

Take out your shovel and dig beneath you and you will find the Skull of Destiny. The voyage will be complete at this point, but prepare to grab the skull and make your way back to your ship as more Shadows of Fate will spawn nearby. The Wayfinder will be removed from your inventory after completing the voyage.

Acquiring the Skull of Destiny will also unlock the Getting A Head achievement.

How to use the Skull of Destiny

The Skull of Destiny is an artifact that can be used to start the Fort of the Damned raid. Thanks to the skull being imbued with all six of the Flames of Fate, it can be used to light up all of the Ferryman statues in the fort and the skull itself can be placed on the headless skeleton in place of a Ritual Skull.

The skull can also be used to light up the lanterns in your ship with the matching color that is set on your skull. You can cycle through all six flame colors while holding the skull out and using it.
