Old consoles are slowly dying out despite their best efforts to stay relevant, which leads us to ask if Star Wars Jedi Survivor will be on PS4 and Xbox One. While it certainly seems feasible, after all, Fallen Order performed so wonderfully on older gen consoles that players can easily think that Respawn Entertainment will be able to find some way to include them. Is Star Wars Jedi Survivor coming to PS4 and Xbox One?
No, Star Wars: Jedi Survivor will not be coming out on PS4 or Xbox One. Respawn Entertainment revealed that it was impossible to port the game to the older gen consoles.
When asked about it on Play Magazine, Game Director Asmussen revealed that both the PS4 and Xbox One isn’t capable of rending the game’s larger open world environments, higher enemy presence, and large graphical overhaul. It simply wouldn’t be able to handle it as the various new features of the game need stronger hardware. There are probably many instances in the game where the PS4 and Xbox One would’ve just crashed.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor will feature fast travel mechanics which Asmussen has stated needs SSD which is available for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Additionally players can also tame animals to use as mounts to get around faster. Being able to render the environment would need stronger hardware which the older console generations aren’t prepared for.
