The Reactor Mission is the fourth mission of System Shock Remake. After foiling SHODAN’s first three attempts at destroying humanity, the Hacker is not racing against the clock as the rogue AI plans to deorbit the Citadel Station and crash it into the Earth’s surface. Read ahead as we go through the Reactor Mission of System Shock Remake and share the objectives that have to be done in the station’s levels.

For this next mission, you will have to head back into the Reactor Level and initiate the self-destruct sequence before SHODAN successfully deorbits the station. You will be revisiting most, if not all, of the previous If you have followed the steps regarding the destruction of the cores from the previous levels, you are pretty much done with most of the steps for this mission; otherwise, you can follow the next steps, which will guide you through the story’s timeline.

    System Code – Systems Engineering

From Rebecca’s message to you after blowing up the antennae, you will learn that initiating the self-destruct sequence will require a System Authorization Code, and the only person who knows how to do this is Willard Richie in the Systems Engineering Administrator Room. Upon arriving there, Willard is already long gone, but the Audio Log – System Code that can be found in the room will let you know how to get the code.

Upon learning that the CPU Cores hold the key to getting the code, you will then have to head back to the previous levels to destroy the cores and see what the codes are. The levels Medical, Research, Maintenance, Storage, Flight Deck, and Executive all have rooms that house the CPU cores, ranging from 1 to 4 cores. Destroying all of these cores will make the screen within the room stop going through numbers and only show a single number.

Some of these rooms cannot be accessed right away until you have completed particular steps in the next level. One example is that the CPU Room in the Maintenance Level will only be available once you have interacted with the system interlocks in the different groves in the Executive Level. It is also imperative to get the Environmental Protection Pack V2 gadget to survive the radiation inside the reactor room.

    Self-Destruct Sequence – Reactor

Make your way back into the Reactor Level and head into the Reactor Room in the middle. Look for the lever that opens the gate on the north side of the room first, then head into the middle of the room where you can ride a gravlift upwards. You will then see a numpad where you can input the 6-digit code from the Core Rooms. They should be in order, starting from the number in the Medical Level up until the Executive Level. After doing so, the self-destruct sequence will start.

Life Pod and Cyborg Diego Boss Fight – Flight Deck

Make your way back to the lift that takes you to the Maintenance Level, then go to the next lift that takes you to the Flight Deck.

Upon arriving at the level, make your way around the central area to the east side and head into Flight Bays 2 and 3. Once you’re at the door to the Life Pod corridor, Cyborg Diego will show up to stop you. You can rush him right away if your weapons are strong enough. You use the objects in the flight bay as cover as you work on destroying him.

Once Cyborg Diego has been dealt with, go through the corridor and input code 001 on the panel to access the life pod. As you initialize the life pod ejection, SHODAN will sabotage your pod and stop you from escaping. You will learn from Rebecca that SHODAN is also preparing the separation of the Bridge where the AI is housed to survive the destruction of the station.
