It’s another year for PlayStation Experience. Sony has confirmed that the first PlayStation Experience 2017 in Asia will be at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this August 5. It has also been confirmed that Sony will have another PlayStation Experience event this December which will be 2 days (December 9-10) in the US.
PSX is Sony’s exclusive gaming convention where they showcase and reveal their current projects, playable demos at booths, and also the indie games they supported. Just like last year, Sony revealed The Last of Us Part II at PSX as well as Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and the Crash Bandicoot remake. It’s exciting to know they will kickstart the event at Southeast Asia. There might be surprises as well, who knows?
Games confirmed that are playable at PSX are Far Cry 5, Detroit: Become Human, Knack 2, Everybody’s Golf, and Gran Turismo Sport. There will be more games listed according to Sony as we get closer to the event.
So, here are the games I’m excited for at PlayStation Experience this August:
Shadow of the Colossus (unconfirmed)
As what was shown at E3 this year, the 2005 masterpiece of Fumito Ueda on the PS2 will be re-releasing on the PS4 in 2018. When I saw the announcement at Sony’s press conference, I was filled with excitement! Shadow of the Colossus’ aesthetics are revamped to stand alongside with the current generation titles just like Crash Bandicoot and WipEout. What’s also great is that Fumito confirmed that there will be no changes or any tweak of its gameplay.
Detroit: Become Human Demo (confirmed)
I’ve got to be honest I never played Heavy Rain or Beyond Two Souls, which means this will be the first Quantic Dream title for me. Detroit’s demo was heavily criticized because of how it was revealed at E3 this year and that David Cage’s reputation was also a factor. I’m a person who wants to test it out for myself before judging, so if ever we get to fly to Malaysia, I’ll be able to figure that out. But for now, I’m still hyped for Detroit!
Death Stranding (unconfirmed)
This is PlayStation Experience, we might get a chance to know more about Hideo Kojima’s open-world title, Death Stranding. This game was a no-show at Sony’s E3 this year and it left a lot of fans disappointed, but it’s likely that Sony’s saving Death Stranding for PlayStation Experience or Tokyo Game Show. So fingers-crossed!
Spider-Man Demo (unconfirmed)
Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man is full of enthralling and wow moments. What was shown at E3 this year was just spectacular and it gives a lot of justice on what a Spider-Man game should be. Although it’s not yet confirmed, I hope to see more of Spidey at PlayStation Experience in August.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Demo (unconfirmed)
I have a feeling that the E3 playable demo will be at PSX in August. It’s likely to happen since the launch date is also in the same month of PSX. We are hopeful to get to see more of Nadine and Chloe at the event!
Call of Duty: WWII (unconfirmed)
Activision went back to the Call of Duty roots and setting, World War II. When it was announced, the trailer looked astonishing and it’s been a while since we’ve played the last World War II Call of Duty entry. Hopefully Call of Duty: WWII will make an appearance at PSX 2017 in Malaysia and a demo too!
Days Gone (unconfirmed)

The latest gameplay trailer shown at E3 was just awesome. It might have these similarities to The Last of Us, but this open-world zombie apocalypse title from Bend Studios does have its own unique aspects. We hope to see more of Days Gone at PSX at Malaysia!
