Miju Games has announced that The Planet Crafter will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 21, 2026, bringing its popular open-world terraforming survival experience to consoles for the first time. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
Since its debut on Steam, The Planet Crafter has become one of the genre’s biggest indie success stories, selling more than two million copies and earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” user rating from players. The game’s continued popularity has been fueled by regular content updates and an active community that has supported the title since its Early Access launch.
Unlike many survival games that focus on combat, The Planet Crafter tasks players with transforming a hostile, lifeless world into a habitable planet. Starting with basic tools and limited resources, players gradually create oxygen, increase atmospheric pressure, melt ice caps, and introduce life to the environment. As terraforming progresses, new regions, caves, and secrets become accessible, creating a constant sense of progression and discovery.
The console version will include all of the major updates released on PC to date, including support for up to eight players in online co-op. Players can work together to build biodomes, deploy terraforming equipment, and reshape entire planets while sharing progression throughout their adventure.
Miju Games says community feedback has played a major role in the game’s growth, with 15 content updates and two DLC expansions released since launch. The studio also confirmed that additional updates are planned following the console release.
“When we started, we were just two people in the south of France,” said Miju Games co-founders Amélie and Brice. “Today, now with a team of seven, and two million terraformers later, we’re landing on consoles. What an amazing adventure, all thanks to our amazing community!”
