The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: How to Escape the Slaughterhouse Level

The Slaughterhouse is one of the levels in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. This is another location where Leatherface worked once as a meat cutter, but the place has turned into a site where he did his heinous acts on his victims. Read ahead as we talk more about the Slaughterhouse and the ways to escape the place in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

To escape the Slaughterhouse in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, you will have to make your way from the basement and through the facility while performing certain tasks which involve opening the several exit points that surround the house.

    Basement Level

As you start a round, you will be captured inside one of the cells inside the basement. Free yourself from your chains, but pay attention to the noise meter; the more you try to move, the higher the noise meter goes up until it reaches max. Once the noise meter turns red, it will help the hunters figure out which cell you will be coming out of, plus it will also awaken Grandpa which can serve as the radar for the hunters, so try to make as little noise as possible to buy some time.

Once you’re free, you will notice that all the exit doors for the basement are highlighted for 30 seconds. The doors will always be in the same place, but it’s best to use this time to orient yourself and learn what paths to take.

Your next objective is to find a lockpick which are usually on tool boxes in the different rooms in the basement. Same as the chains, you will make noises as you try to get a lockpick. You can take two tools at max.

Aside from the obvious doorways, there are also cracks on the wall and crawlspaces where you can pass through. Use these alternate paths to shake off any hunters as most hunters can’t fit through them. You will know if a hunter has spotted you if you start seeing your border turn yellow, and it will turn redder the closer they get to you.

The exit doors in the basement can be found in these areas:

    • North Storage Room
    • Tool Storage
    • Furnace Room
    • Bone Room

Taking any of these exits will allow you to reach the ground level of the slaughterhouse yard.

Once you reach any of the basement exits, you will find yourself at the ground floor and at the back side of the Slaughterhouse Facility. The back side is quite a maze with all the fences that subdivide the area. There are also small sheds that you can go in, as well as tall grass that you can use to hide. Some of the sheds have rooftops where Grandpa can sometimes spawn in.

There is also the main Slaughterhouse Facility up north that has multiple spacious rooms, and when you make your way to the front side, you will arrive at the Loading Dock. Another smaller building down south leads to the Parking Lot.

All of the exits that can be found on the Ground Level, as well as the Basement, remain in their location in every match. However, the locations of where the items and objectives spawn for the exits may differ from instance to instance.

In the Slaughterhouse, Grandpa will usually spawn in the Exterior area of the map, such as in:

    • Facility Courtyard
    • Exterior, near Cattle Chute
    • Tool Storage, rooftop

Slaughterhouse Fusebox Room / Fuse Exit

The Fusebox Room is one of the exits in the Slaughterhouse. To take this exit, you will first need to get a fuse from the ground level, then take it to a fuse box which spawn in the ground level as well. Place the fuse inside the box, then make sure that the values match; remember to pull the lever to open the gate. There are usually two fuses in the map and only one fuse box per match.

Head back down into the basement and go to the Fusebox Room to get to the exit.

These are the locations where the fuses can be found:

    • Cutting Room
    • Facility Courtyard
    • Exterior, near Garage
    • Meat Inspection

These are the locations where the fuse boxes can be found:

    • Facility Backdoor
    • Exterior, near Cattle Chute

Slaughterhouse Pressure Valve / Valve Exit

The Pressure Valve is one of the exits in the Slaughterhouse. To take this exit, you will need to bring a tool with you and use it to pry a valve handle from a pipe. These pipes are scattered within the ground floor. Once you have a handle, bring it over to a valve pump and use it to overload the pump that is connected to the pressure-controlled gate. There are usually two to three handles and only one pump in every match.

These are the locations where the valve handles can be found:

    • Facility Backdoor
    • Exterior, near Holding Pen
    • Exterior, near Tool Storage
    • Windmill

These are the locations where the valve pumps can be found:

    • Leatherface Lair
    • Furnace Room

Slaughterhouse Loading Dock / Cattle Grid Exit

The Loading Dock Gate is one of the exits in the Slaughterhouse. In order to take this exit, you will need to make your way through the facility and to the Loading Dock; make sure to bring at least one tool for the gate. Once you reach the gate, you can either unlock it first, or follow the yellow cable attached to the gate to find a nearby generator or a car battery.

You will have to kick the generator until it breaks down or turn off the car battery to disable the cattle grid. Once the grid is out, you can unlock the gate and make it out of the map.

The Parking Lot Gate is one of the exits in the Slaughterhouse. In order to take this exit, you will need to make your way through the south facility and to the Parking Lot; make sure to bring at least one tool for the gate.

    Slaughterhouse Trophy and Achievements

There is one trophy or achievement that can only be obtained by playing on the Slaughterhouse map, which is:

    • Off to Market – Escape using each exit on the Slaughterhouse level.
