Taking on side quests is common in most RPG games, especially in Hogwarts Legacy. Players can take on these quests, which reward them with items, spells, and more. Most of these quests are beneficial, while some just unlock certain lore that helps understand the wizardly world.
As such, listed below are our top 10 best optional side quests that players should partake in, including what rewards will await them upon completion.
Ghost of Our Love
In this side quest, players will need to find and follow the floating candles in the Forbidden Forest using the spell Lumos. Upon completing this quest, players will receive 180 XP, the Treasure-Seeker’s Scarf, and 400 gold.
In the Shadow of the Study
Completing this side quest is optional, but it is highly rewarding because it is one of the missions where players can learn one of the three unforgivable curses, Crucio. Highly recommended, and in this quest, players must explore the Slytherin dungeon to find the spellbook, which will grant them the spell and 180 XP.
Flight Test
Learning to fly is essential in the game, and doing this quest will help players know the basics of flying a broom, plus there might be a chance that if there are any DLC updates for the game, flying a broom may play a key role in any future updates.
In the Shadow of the Relic
Another side quest worth trying out is In The Shadow of the Relic side quest. This quest will lead players to the catacombs and defeat Sebastian’s uncle, Solomon. Doing so will award players one of the most instantaneous kill spells of the Unforgivable Curses, Avada Kedavra.
In The Shadow Of Time
Among the optional side quests found in the game, “In The Shadow Of Time” is one of the most challenging missions that players will face. Making sure to make the right choices and fighting hordes of Ranrok’s loyalists will be worth the adventure. Completing this quest will award players with the Unforgivable Curse, known as Imperio.
Well Well Well
On the southeast of the Aranshire while exploring some old ruins, players will come across a well where a woman’s voice can be heard. Upon interaction, players will find one of the most fruitful and extravagant quests in the game, as they will earn tons of rewards. Completing this quest requires players to use the spell Levioso to lift the tree and obtain the loot upon reaching the required destination set by the well.
The Man Behind The Moon
A demiguise is a small creature covered in gray fur, and what’s interesting about this beast is that it can look into the future, which makes it incredibly hard for people to capture it. In Hogwarts Legacy, there are a total of 30 demiguise statues found throughout the game, and when a player collects all of them, they will earn a chance to upgrade the Alohamara spell.
A Tale of Rowland Oakes
This quest is practically hard to complete in the game because players are taken to different parts of the game where they will engage in combat and go on a treasure hunt. Filled with unexpected ruins, conversations, and challenges, this side quest is considered one of many worth trying out in Hogwarts Legacy.
Portrait in A Pickle
Magical portraits in Hogwarts are one of many fun interactive things to do in the game. One of the quests that players will encounter is called “Portrait in a Pickle.” Truth be told, this side quest is one of the most hilarious, as one of the portraits on the school grounds has been kidnapped, and players will need to search for clues as to where to find it.
The Hippogriff Marks The Spot
Another treasure hunt side quest that I recommend players try is this: “The Hippogriff Marks the Spot.” This quest will allow players to explore many abandoned castles and homes where there are hidden chests. But what’s more interesting about this mission is that there are places that require careful thinking about how to reach hidden paths using the spells learned through the game. Among other things, this quest is best suited for those who wish to challenge themselves fully.
