    Valkyrie Elysium – Hands-On Preview

JRPG games in Square Enix have become some of the most memorable games in our childhood. Games like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and even, Star Ocean had great storylines that replaying and watching their full story through and through made people emotional at some point. Among the games that kept me interested in playing is the Valkyrie series. Recently, the demo version of the new Valkyrie game, Valkyrie Elysium was released. In this article, we will give our honest opinion about the game and how we feel about it.

    Valkyrie Elysium: Hands-On Preview

Valkyrie Elysium is the 5th installment of the Valkyrie series and I am confident that this game is worth getting. The game’s main focus is on the origin of Valkyrie and her mission to obey the orders of her lord, Odin. The depth of the story is really simple and good and worth exploring when it comes out on its release.

The battle gameplay of this new Valkyrie series is really simple and action based. Shifting from a turn-based system, this game has aspects that make its combat system fast, fluid, and easy to follow. Normally, I would be skeptical about it since Square Enix would be planning to change some of their games into a new type of combat system. But after trying the demo, it proved to be worth the change.

The undead enemies that players will face in the game are worth facing since they drop items that prove to be useful in enhancing your skills, weapons, and more. Each of them is spontaneously challenging and has its own weaknesses. If I were to comment on this part, I would face a variety of more undead enemies to further challenge myself again in this game once it releases fully.

The graphics of the game on the PS5 is stunning and beautiful. The environment displayed by the demo version of the game makes me believe that there is more to offer on its official release. The design of the characters, the maps, and even the boss battles are visually appealing. Including the BGM and environmental tapestry of the world, a lot of effort and passion has brought this game to a new level.

    Valkyrie Elysium: Hands-On Preview

Overall, the demo version of the game is worth trying out. It gives hope to not only Valkyrie fans but also to Square Enix fans. It would be proved useful to know that the direction that company is heading might give future titles a chance to change and attract more people to try the JRPG titles they own.

How long is the Valkyrie Elysium demo?

The Valkyrie Elysium demo will take less than three hours to complete. Do note that if you buy the PS5 and PS4 Digital Deluxe Editions, you will have 72-hour early access to the full game pre-launch.

Valkyrie Elysium launches on September 29, 2022, on PS4 and PS5. And the PC version gets the game on November 11, 2022. The demo is currently out for Southeast Asia and Japan accounts. US and UK might get it later.
