The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope Two-Part Dev Diary Released

The Dark Pictures: Little Hope The Curator

A two-part developer diary was recently released by game company Bandai Namco Entertainment for upcoming video game The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope.

Little Hope is a branching cinematic horror game where the choices that players make will determine the fates of the characters and how the story will unfold. To further immerse players into this horror adventure, motion capture was done to bring a cinematic look and feel while adding depth to the story.

Motion capture brings about authenticity to the performance onscreen. The dev diary series reveals the many difficulties motion capture actors must experience in order to bring their characters to life. This is to deliver the best and authentic performance that will be converted into what players will see in-game.

Get a closer look at this fascinating technological and artistic process in which movements from actors are digitally recorded with pinpoint accuracy to create the most immersive in-game horror experience possible. In the video, viewers will learn about how choosing the right actors is crucial, and how those actors employ training and imagination to convey authentic emotions without detailed physical sets.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope will be available in the Americas on October 30th for XBOX ONE, PlayStation 4, and PCs via STEAM.
