Game publisher Koei Tecmo America and developer Omega Force announce new details of upcoming video game Samurai Warriors 5.
More details were revealed just recently with the new announcement like the official western release date and more. SW5 offers 1 vs. 1,000 tactical action gameplay that will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. It will be released on North America on July 27.
SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 takes place after the end of the Ōnin War, during the Sengoku period, and tells the story of two of the most preeminent military commanders of this period – Nobunaga Oda, and Mitsuhide Akechi. This title includes various eras from this period, including the younger years of Nobunaga, when he was known as “Owari’s Great Fool,” and the period of turmoil and upheaval leading to the Honnō-ji Incident.
The game will feature new redesigned and re-imagined character designs to help fit the storyline’s Sengoku time period. It will feature 27 playable characters, including both new and returning warriors. These characters include Ieyasu Tokugawa and Hideyoshi Hashiba to No, and Yoshimoto Imagawa. There is also a new original character Mitsuki – a Koga Ninja. There will be other new characters later.
All-new Musuo actions have been added to the game as well and it includes newly designed Musuo Frenzy Attacks. The character actions are now displayed in vibrant new Japanese ink painting art style.
