Game company CAPCOM has revealed the official PC system requirements for upcoming survival horror video game Resident Evil Village and it is a bit complicated.

Thanks to the new Steam store page reveal of RE Village, the PC system requirements, both minimum and recommended specs were unveiled. It is not that complicated and pretty straightforward, well for this part:

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
    MINIMUM:

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
    Processor: Intel Core i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
    Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB VRAM / AMD Radeon RX 560 with 4GB VRAM
    DirectX: Version 12
Additional Notes: Estimated performance (when set to Prioritize Performance): 1080p/60fps. ・Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes. ・NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT required to support ray tracing. System requirements subject to change during game development.
    RECOMMENDED:

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
    Processor: Intel Core i7 8700 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
    Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX 5700
    DirectX: Version 12
Additional Notes: Estimated performance: 1080p/60fps ・Framerate might drop in graphics-intensive scenes. ・NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT required to support ray tracing. System requirements subject to change during game development.

The Steam version has it easy, but the real confusing one is on the official Japanese website. It extends that further with certain GPUs are available like NVIDIA’s RTX cards and AMD’s RX 6000 cards.

    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (4K / 45fps)
    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (4K / 60fps)
    AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (4K / 45fps)
    AMD Radeon RX 6800 (4K / 45fps)
    AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT (4K / 60fps)

Players would also notice that the storage size is still missing so we will be holding on to that.

So, what we can understand from this if the game is set to Prioritize Performance, players will be able to enjoy 1080p resolution with 60fps. If it is set for visuals though, the frame rate will drop in graphics-intensive scenes. This will also depend on what GPU they will be using. It seems the newer cards will be able to handle 4K resolution with 60fps, but lower ones will have to endure 45fps or even lower.

Resident Evil Village will launch on May 7 for PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
