Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion Features New Menu Based Battle System

Square Enix has recently revealed the new Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion menu based battle system and more.

The official Twitter account of Final Fantasy VII has recently shared new information about the upcoming remake of a popular classic PSP spin-off game. It gives a brief list of the new features that will be coming to Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion. This include the following:

    • Improved camera and character movements
    • Optimised UI
    • A new menu-based battle system
    • New background music arrangements by Takeharu Ishimoto
    • Full VO added to scenes that were previously text only

The combat system will be very different now thanks to this new menu-based battle system. The original version had a somewhat like a casino slot machine where players have to match characters on one line to gain better stats and more. No word yet on how this new menu-based battle system would work, but it seems to be way better now.

There will be new background music arrangements for the game, which is a welcome change for the game, but it seems the new voice over for the characters are getting some criticism. It seems most of the original voice actors of the game will not be reprising their roles for the new one. This meant the protagonist Zack will now sound different from what fans remember in the original game.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion launches Winter 2022. It will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
