New Report Claims Nintendo Plans to Increase Switch Production

A new report has claimed Nintendo is increasing Switch console system production in order to meet its continued demand despite it being close to its lifecycle end.

In November 2022, Nintendo reduced its Switch sales forecast for the current fiscal year which would end in March 2023. It reduced sales by 2 million units from 21 million to 19 million but now it seems it has changed its mind.

Nintendo reportedly planning to increase Switch production, aiming for more than 19m units shipped in next financial year (12 months ending March 30, 2024)https://t.co/YThlzS6UUJ

Bloomberg’s recent report claims Nintendo is now encouraged to increase its production since component shortages are now less these days. Demand for the console is also getting stronger, which means there are still many fans out there who want to buy a Switch despite the rumors of an upcoming next-gen Nintendo console starting next year.

It is planned to increase production in Nintendo’s next fiscal year starting in April 2023. This will become the seventh year that the Switch has entered the gaming market.

Speculations suggest that the production boost is due to the upcoming launch of the new Zelda title: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. There was a leak that claims to have revealed a new Switch bundle with the game’s colors and patterns. It is also predicted that there will be a price drop for all Switch versions soon.

No next-gen Nintendo hardware this year, but it could happen in the next and possibly in the few years to come.
