Resident Evil 4 Remake Twin El Gigante Boss Guide

Having fought bugs and infected villagers, best bros Leon and Luis are on the home stretch. All they need to do is to make it past the foundry. A foundry that’s guarded by Twin El Gigante.

This guide will tell you everything you need to be aware of when you’re fighting the twin El Gigante boss fight in Resident Evil 4 Remake. All things considered, it’s not a complicated fight and certainly more forgiving than the original version. This ought to be an entertaining one.

How to Defeat the Twin El Gigante in Resident Evil 4 Remake

The encounter starts after Leon was about to through the vent leading to the foundry. One of the Twin El Gigante will pull him into it instead. And a big surprise! It’s the Armored El Gigante we dispatched from atop the castle. It’s a good thing that Luis was there to help Leon out or he would have been a Leon sandwich! (Yeah, we went there.)

Not too after, the second El Gigante appears and both Leon and Luis laugh off their near-death experiences.

When the fight properly starts, Luis will draw the attention of the armored El Gigante, allowing Leon to go after the unarmored El Gigante.

For this part, you have two options: either dunk the El Gigante into the pool of molten metal below or outright kill it where it stands. No matter what method you choose to dispatch the El Gigante, know that it is highly unlikely that the twin El Gigante will drop into the molten metal at the same time. For starters, the Armored El Gigante will avoid that central drop like it was the plague. Secondly, Luis is intent on leading it away.

The regular way of taking it down involves pumping the monster with lead until it topples over. It is rather draining on resources. And that’s where the alternative comes in. Just keep shooting it until the Plagas parasite exposes. This is more than enough time for you to get to the controls and manually open the grating cover.

Alternatively, you can drop a flashbang grenade on his feet and that will result in it being stunned long enough to be dropped into the pool. (It’s also quite fun to watch.)

Once the first El Gigante has been dispatched, the second one becomes a priority. The problem with this El Gigante is the fact that the armor deflects any and all incoming fire short of a cannon blast.

Actually, as soon as the first El Gigante goes down, Luis will ask to distract the monster while he fetches something off-screen. During this time, you can opt to play cat and mouse while Luis does Luis things. Ultimately, it’s going to save a bunch of bullets.

When Luis comes back, he’ll reappear along the catwalk. He’ll be holding a stack of dynamite. You kind of what happens next, right? Your next task is to lure the giant to where Luis is. Once in position, he’ll jump onto the monster’s back and plant the dynamite. Shoot the dynamite to expose the plagas parasite underneath.

Now, you have two options here: to again drop the armored El Gigante or kill the parasite that’s keeping it alive. Either or the encounter ends once the monster goes down.

Keep in mind that the dynamite explosion is the only opportunity to drop him into the molten lava. Once the Armored El Gigante goes back on his feet, you’ll have lost the chance to do so.

If you decide to gun him down, the armored El Gigante will be more aggressive toward whoever is shooting at him, be it you or Luis. He’ll be stomping and charging more often. Ultimately though, we think it’s worth gunning down the twin El Gigante.

    Twin El Gigante Rewards

If you decide to drop the twin El Gigante into the pool of molten metal, you will not be able to retrieve any treasure from their bodies. If you decide to gun down the armored El Gigante, however, you will at least get a red beryl gem for your efforts.
