Game Pass to Include Activision Blizzard Games in 2024

With the Microsoft $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard King closing next week, fans have asked when the publisher will put its popular franchises on Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription.

A tweet from the official Twitter/X account of Activision Blizzard stated they will begin adding its games to Game Pass “sometime in the course of next year.” It’s expected that the majority of its franchises, including StarCraft, Overwatch, Diablo, Crash Bandicoot, and the popular first-person shooter, Call of Duty franchise, will definitely be available to Game Pass subscribers in 2024.

It’s also worth noting that Activision specifically said they won’t be adding Modern Warfare 3 and Diablo 4 on Game Pass this year, which means that when Activision Blizzard starts to put its games on Game Pass in 2024, the aforementioned games will indeed be added as well.

It’s awesome to see anticipation building for Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® III. As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass.

“While we do not have plans to put Modern Warfare III or Diablo IV into Game Pass this year,” according to Activision Blizzard in its tweet via Twitter/X. “Once the deal closes, we expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world. And we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass sometime in the course of next year.”

It’s been a tough battle for Microsoft in acquiring Activision Blizzard. With the FTC trial, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Jim Ryan’s involvement in stopping the acquisition, and the obstacles they faced with the UK’s CMA, Microsoft deserves this huge breather and call for celebration in successfully convincing the major markets to approve the huge acquisition.

In other Activision Blizzard-related news, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is set to release on November 10, 2023, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
