In DOOM: The Dark Ages, the Village of Khalim is the first chapter. This guide will walk you through the locations of all 11 collectibles in this level. Note that there is 0 Gold to be found in this chapter.
Follow this walkthrough to ensure you get every Secret (6), Codex Entry (2), Collectible Toy (2), and Skin (1) for 100% completion. All collectibles are presented in the order you’ll likely encounter them during your playthrough. If you happen to miss anything, don’t worry โ you can always revisit the Village of Khalim chapter via Chapter Select.
Collectible Locations
Secret #1
- Location: Immediately after the Power Gauntlet tutorial, proceed through the newly opened doorway. Look to your left, there should be a breakable door. Break it with your shield, go inside, and then look to your left again to find a Life Sigil.
Secret #2 & Collectible Toy (Imp)
- Location: A Blue Key is required to get this. However, the Blue Key is immediately obtainable as it’s part of the main story mission. After you get the blue Key, there should be a green cracked wall to exit the church. Immediately turn left and take the pathway again leading to the church you took before, you should have noticed a locked gate to the right, which should now be unlockable after you retrieved the Blue Key. Inside is a secret, the Imp Collectible Toy.
Secret #3 & Weapon Skin (Nightmare Skin)
- Location: Once you’ve reached the large open area where you need to close 4 Demonic Portals, there should be a path to the left where you’re led to a weapon drop pod that will give you the Shredder (this is part of the main story mission). Quickly turn around, and you notice just about to your left, when you approach the edge, there is a lower area where you need to jump to by simply sprinting first before you jump to get that boost to reach it. Once you get close to the collectible, a red barrier will appear, and you need to simply shoot one of the red barrels to defeat the demons. After the demons have been defeated, the red barrier will disappear, and you’ll get the Secret and the Nightmare Weapon Skin for the Combat Shotgun.
Secret #4 & Collectible Toy (Soldier)
- Location: Return to the same large open area with the drop pod in the center. This time, proceed past the drop pod and look to your left again. You’ll find another area you can jump down to. Drop down here to find the Secret and the Soldier Collectible Toy.
Secret #5
- Location: You will need the Purple Key for Secret #5. So, after successfully closing the third Demonic Gate, instead of heading left towards the jump pad for the fourth gate, turn right and go around the corner. Here, you’ll find the Purple Key. Now, backtrack to the starting area where the first Demonic Gate was located. You can now use the Purple Key to unlock a gate, leading to this Secret and another Life Sigil.
Codex (Doom Slayer)
- Location: After closing the Demonic Gate in the area behind Secret #5, go behind where the gate was and then to the right. Climb up the ledges and around to the top of this area. The Doom Slayer Codex Entry will be waiting for you there.
Secret #6 & Codex (Village of Khalim)
- Location: Once you have closed all 4 Demonic Gates, proceed into the next area. Following the next combat encounter, look for a climbable wall on your right, just past the large fiery wreckage. Climb up this wall to find the final Secret and the Village of Khalim codex.
You have now collected all the secrets, codex entries, collectible toys, and the weapon skin in the Village of Khalim chapter of Doom: The Dark Ages.
