Game company Embracer Group, the parent company of THQ Nordic, Saber Interactive, Koch Media, and Gearbox has acquired not one, but eight more game studios including 3D Realms.
Media outlet Eurogamer reports that game studio 3D Realms is the maker of popular game series Duke Nukem and now has six new projects in the works. Together with support and also Danish studio Slipgate Ironworks will be merging with Saber Interactive.
VR studio Force Field and subsidiary Vertigo Games will be joining Koch Media and will continue to make new VR projects. Easy Trigger, the developer of 2D shooter Huntdown and Deep Rock Galactic developer Ghost Ship Games will be merged with Embracer’s Coffee Stain Studios.
CrazyLabs, makers of mobile game Super Stylist and Grimfrost, an e-commerce company that has a global brand for high-quality Viking merchandise, has been acquired by Embracer Group.
Embracer Group has now more than 70 studios strong including 3D Realms.
