Starfield has been releasing a multitude of concept art as teasers for the upcoming game. The hype is real for Bethesda’s next big open-world project.
Actually, “open-world” is an understatement as they are working on a game that is set in humanity’s next frontier: space. This is such an ambitious and tall order; grander than the world-building that they’ve done with Skyrim.
Starfield is still in development and is set to come out in November 2022. So far we’ve only seen short animation clips and concept art, but seeing the illustrations alone is enough to get us interested and wonder as to what worlds and environments we can expect to find ourselves fully immersed into.
All Starfield Concept Art and Illustrations
Landscapes and Terrains
A journey through an almost barren landscape. The layers on the rock formations give a scale of time that can only be measured by the millenia.
A trek into an alien, yet somewhat familiar, jungle. What lives in these lush environments has yet to be known.
Into the depths of an ominous looking cave.
An exploration on a glacial environment.
Inside a cavern full of crystalline structures.
The ruins of the spacecraft “Expedition” on what seems to be a war-torn battleground littered with scrap metal.
Ships
A stop over for an emergency repair.
It’s always dusty whenever thrusters are fired up.
A ship presumably part of the Constellation group. We wonder when its name will be made known.
Habitats and Structures
The interior of a single-person settlement. Cozy.
The interior of a habitation module, possibly part of a space station or a ship. Notice the maintenance droid wearing a hat with a stuffed animal on its back. (Personal note: as the devs claim that Starfield will stay grounded by sticking to realistic technology, I do hope that they follow through in showing how artificial gravity will be achieved in zero-G environments)
Inside and off-world base camp.
Inside a hangar, a pilot waits for the ship’s repairs to be completed.
An off-shore metropolis at dusk.
Just a small block of a city’s skyline.
A city amongst the jagged heights. Notice the planet looming in the sky.
Neon: The bustling nightlife through the market streets.
A modern cityscape.
A rustic settlement within a valley.
A concept designs of hatches.
A concept design of airlocks.
Food
The usual packed and vacuum-sealed meals that explorers eat during expeditions. Yes, those are worms, not rice.
A portable dining kit. Not your average lunch box.
Suit Concept Designs
A more modern and compact exploration suit.
A suit that seems to be made for terrestrial exploration only.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more Starfield concept art in the coming months and will update this as soon as new content comes out.
In the meantime, take a look at the list of top games that we’re looking forward to playing in 2022 which definitely includes Starfield:
