Bethesda has now assigned the lead designer and writer for upcoming video game Starfield and that is Bethesda Design Director Emil Pagliarulo.
Pagliarulo has been in Bethesda for 19 years already and has worked on some of the best games the game company has to offer like The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Fallout 76 to name a few. Now, he is now the Lead Designer and Writer on Starfield.
The first project that Pagliarulo has worked on when he joined Bethesda was the Bloodmoon expansion for Morrowind, the lead designer shared in the recent blog on Bethesda. He cannot even remember if he was a designer or a senior designer at that time because it changed a lot over the years.
Pagliarulo revealed his best work so far and that would be Fallout 3. “We had just acquired this classic IP, and it was my first time being a lead, and we really had to create everything from scratch,” he shared. “So there are a lot of things that became staples of the franchise, that I had to help create from whole cloth. V.A.T.S., the lockpicking minigame, the dialogue system, some of the new creatures and weapons.”
The lead designer even shared his first encounter with a star. He met Liam Neeson for the first time to record his lines in the game.
When it comes to Starfield, Pagliarulo was proud to say that this game was going to be special. “Players are going to lose their minds,” he said.
Starfield is launching on November, 11, 2022. It will be released on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
