Mundfish has recently stated that it is already planning for an Atomic Heart sequel after its success when it launched last month.
Atomic Heart is already planned for a sequel due to its “success” during launch. It also got mixed reviews, but it did get attention due to that. It even surpassed Hogwarts Legacy in sales and gained popularity in Steam Deck, but that quickly deteriorated, but still in the respectable territory. That does not seem to dishearten the developers and are already gearing up for the next story.
Mundfish recently spoke with journalist Aleksey Makarenkov in an interview revealing its plans for Atomic Heart 2. The devs said that the sequel is not out of the question, but it might be a while before fans could hear some solid info about it. For one, Mundfish is still busy with the updates for Atomic Heart due to the numerous bugs that came out of the woodwork after launch, and two, DLC is still in the works.
Atomic Heart is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
