Leaks of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 just got confirmed via a very unlikely source.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Leaks Get DMCA’ed
Various leaks of supposedly upcoming video game sequel Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 have been floating around the internet recently with many posts appearing on various social media platforms. In order to control and put a stop to these leaks, Activision has now unleashed the DMC strikes on those users who have been sharing the images of the unannounced game. Unfortunately for Activision, it inadvertently confirmed the game instead since the DMCA warning confirmed that there is an unannounced game called Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
Here’s what it says on the DMCA strike:
Reported content:
- Video/Audiovisual Recording Description of Infringement:
- Leaked content from unreleased video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III
Leaked Image Source
According to sources, the images originated from the internal test for the title, which is reportedly a continuation of last year’s Modern Warfare 2, developed by Sledgehammer Games. Bloomberg then claimed that Activision planned to launch a major Modern Warfare 2 expansion this year, but this has now transitioned into a full game, which is Modern Warfare 3.
Next Call of Duty Theme
Individuals who are familiar with this new project claim that Activision’s goal for the new Call of Duty is to make a game feel “like a standalone, full-price release and also an extension of Modern Warfare II.”
Other leaks reveal that the sequel will feature the return of the classic mini map and the Ninja perk, with perks categorized into different pieces of “gear” including gloves, helmets, and boots. There were also some NBA players who posted on social media to claim that they have been shown a demo of the next Call of Duty game.
Activision has not released an official statement to confirm or deny these new leaks.
