Can you go evil in Hogwarts Legacy? A closer look at the game’s morality system

With the revelation that there’s no morality system in the game, players are wondering if they can be evil in Hogwarts Legacy. There are a lot of forbidden Dark Arts in the world of wizards and witches.

One question on everyone’s mind is whether they will be able to turn evil in the game. In this article, we will explore the game’s morality system and the answer to the question “Can you go evil in Hogwarts Legacy?”

Can you be a villain in Hogwarts Legacy?

Yes, you can be evil in Hogwarts Legacy without suffering any consequences for your actions. If you want to become evil in Hogwarts Legacy, then that’s definitely the route for you. Although, no matter how much a player may want to play as an evil character, it’s not possible to fully become a villain in the game. The game is designed to put the player on a path to saving the world.

Does Hogwarts Legacy have a morality system?

Hogwarts Legacy developers have chosen not to include a morality system and players’ choices will not be labeled as good or bad. This means taking amoral actions will have no impact on the story or changes in gameplay. Players will have the option to learn and use unforgivable curses, which may or may not have consequences for the character and the world.

You’re able to act like a villain in Hogwarts Legacy by using Unforgivable Curses which grant the caster control over their victims. Unforgivable Curses manipulate, control, and even kill the poor soul they’re used on. They’re notably a taboo in the Harry Potter universe.

NPCs who see you casting Unforgivable Curses will flinch or have some form of reaction. We aren’t quite sure how this will affect the relationship of your Hogwarts Legacy companions as some of them are more on the heroic side.

It’s unclear just how evil you can be in Hogwarts Legacy, but certain quests do give you options. We doubt you’re able to join the antagonists or kill anyone roaming the halls of Hogwarts. Still, using Unforgivable Curses kind of makes you evil in Hogwarts Legacy.
