The Destiny 2 Season of the Deep has added the new Hunter Strand Aspect: Threaded Specter, which opens up possibilities for an extremely deadly build. Its unique ability to aggro enemies to your afterimage is unlike any other ability in the game, and we’re sure you can already think of plenty of ways to use it. Here’s what you need to make the best Destiny 2 Hunter Strand Threaded Specter build in Destiny 2 Season 21: Season of the Deep.

This Threaded Specter Hunter PVE build revolves around the Threader Specter Aspect. Upon dodging, it leaves behind an afterimage of yourself that aggro enemies and, when struck, deals damage to them. Since you have another Aspect open, get Widow’s Silk for an extra grenade charge.

You can only equip one exotic, so we suggest getting the Wormhusk Crown since its ability to heal and restore your shields complements this build well. Other pieces of armor you should get are the Deep Explorer Grasps, which allow you to equip more mods, and the Twisting Echo Cloak, which allows you to equip even more useful mods such as the Reaper and Powerful Attraction.

Get Marksman Dodge, which automatically reloads your weapon after dodging and reduces the cooldown of your dodge and grenade by 10 seconds. This is still the best dodge skill for most Hunter builds, and that hasn’t changed in Season of the Deep.

The Fragment combinations for this build are interesting. Get the Thread of Transmutation, which creates Tangles upon final blows, when you have Woven Mail, which reduces incoming damage. And you can get Woven Mail by equipping Thread of Warding, which grants the buff upon picking up Orbs of Power. The Thread of Evolution we recommended above will go well with your Threadling Grenade, which will allow them to travel further and deal more damage. You can create even more Threadlings with the Thread of Finality, where Final Blows with Finishers can create even more Threadlings.

For Artifacts, go with Strand Soldier and pair it with Improved Unraveling. Gaining Woven Mail gives your Strand weapons Unraveling Rounds, which are only boosted by the Improved Unraveling. To deal even more damage, use the Conductive Cosmic Needle, which increases your damage against enemies infected with Strand debuffs.

Hunter Strand PVP Build: Threaded Specter

  • Head Helmet: Cyrtarachne’s Facade
    • Mod: Dual Current Siphon
    • Mod: Dynamo

Skills

  • Threaded Spike
  • Marksman’s Dodge
  • Grapple Grenade

Aspects

  • Threaded Specter
  • Widow’s Silk

Fragments

  • Thread of Ascent
  • Thread of Mind
  • Thread of Binding
  • Thread of Warding

Artifacts

  • Technicolor Siphon
  • Improved Unraveling
  • Strand Soldier
  • Conductive Cosmic Needle

The Threaded Specter Aspect is useful in PVP for tricking other players as it leaves a false radar ping that diverts their attention. That opening can mean life or death in Crucible matches which is why you want to make use of that opening as much as possible to deal lethal damage.

There’s also a lot you can do by building up Woven Mail with this build. The Cyrtarachne’s Facade will go well with your Grapple here as it gives you Woven Mail upon activating grapple. With Thread of Ascent, you immediately reload your weapon upon grappling which is a big bonus in crucial moments which can also be done with Marksman’s Dodge. You can get even more Woven Mail with the Thread of Warding which grants you that upon picking up Orbs of Power.

You’ll want to be in and out damaging as much as you can whenever enemies leave themselves open and then get out quickly. Use Gambler’s Dodge to give false information to your enemies, and with your weapon reloaded fire on them when they make a fatal mistake.

That’s our take on the best Destiny 2 Season of the Deep Threaded Specter build for Hunters.
