Rockstar Games has announced a free upgrade for Grand Theft Auto V on PC, set to launch on March 4, 2025 This upgrade will bring enhanced graphics and performance to the PC version, aligning it with the recent console enhancements.
According to a post on the official Rockstar Games website, PC players of Grand Theft Auto V will automatically receive the upgrade, which promises to deliver a more immersive and visually stunning experience.

The announcement suggests PC players can anticipate improvements similar to those seen in the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. These could include:
- Enhanced Graphics: Improved textures, higher levels of detail, and advanced lighting and shadow effects.
- Performance Boosts: Optimized frame rates and smoother gameplay with the use of Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR1 and FSR3, taking advantage of the latest PC hardware.
- Faster Loading Times: Reduced loading times for a more seamless experience when using SSD and DirectStorage.
- Ray Tracing: Ray-traced reflections and shadows, ambient occlusion, and global illumination.
The upgrade will be automatically applied to Grand Theft Auto V on PC starting March 4. Players who own the game on PC via the Rockstar Games Launcher or Steam are expected to receive the update.
