Chi-Yu is one of the 4 Ruinous Pokémon found in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s region of Paldea. Chi-Yu being a part of the Legendary Dark Quartet suggests that you’ll have to seek out some Ominous Blue Stakes to acquire one. Read on, and this guide will list down all info about what Chi-Yu is and where to find this goldfish-like legendary creature in the game.
Chi-Yu is a fish-like Pokémon. It is composed of two curved beads, each of which resembles two fish circling a black orb coated by white around the sides. They make up the eyes of Chi-Yu, while the rest of its fish-shaped body is formed by a dark red and yellow flame. It is a dark fire-type Pokémon that controls flames burning at over 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit. It casually swims through the sea of lava it creates by melting rock and sand and controls flames burning at over 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit. Where to Find Chi-Yu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
To find Chi-Yu, players must head to the Blue Shrine in North Province (Area Two), in a cave atop a waterfall, which is in the northeast section of the map. Using Koraidon/Miraidon’s traversal abilities, climbing will make accessing this shrine really simple to do.
To unlock the seal on the shrine, players must pull all eight Blue Ominous Stakes from the ground. They are scattered throughout the northeast regions of the Paldea which are Glaseado Mountain, North Province (Area One) and (Area Two), Tagtree Thicket, and East Province (Area Three).
All Ominous Blue Stake Locations
Below are the exact locations of where to find each of the stakes needed to unlock the seal:
The 1st stake can be found atop a mountain, northeast of the Paldea region, at the North Province near the city of Montenevera.
The 2nd stake can be found in the middle hill located in the North Province.
The 3rd stake is located easily under a tree in the southeast of Glaseado Mountain in the Tagtree Thicket area.
The 4th stake can be found at the mountainous part of Glaseado Mountain, west of the Tagtree Thicket and south of the mountain.
The 5th stake is located northeast of Levincia near the sea on top of a hill.
The 6th stake is hard to find since it is located in the ruins at Area Two of the North Province.
The 7th stake is located on top of the mountain behind a tree at Area Two of the North Province, near the Pokemon Center.
The last stake is located at the top of the mountain in the Fury Falls found between Area One and Two of The North Province, and south of the Pokemon Center in Area Two.
Once you find all Blue Stakes, the seal for Chi-Yu will be unlocked and players must return to the shrine and fight him.
How to Catch Chi-Yu Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
As stated above, Chi-Yu is a dark fire-type Pokemon and it is best to bring a water-type Pokemon to resist any fire attacks that the Ruinous Pokemon might do. We Recommend using Quaquaval, the final evolution of Quaxly since it’s a water fighting-type Pokemon and can resist both dark and fire attacks that Chi-Yu can inflict. Stock up on special Pokeballs such as Dusk Balls, Quick Balls, Ultra-Balls, and even Timer Balls to catch Chi-Yu more effectively. Once you follow these steps, you’ll have one of the four Ruinous Pokémon on your roster.
