Radiant Ore in Slime Rancher 2 is one of the key resources used to purchase certain tool upgrades and abilities during your playthrough. The process is pretty straightforward, and just like in any other game, there are certain prerequisites before obtaining a bunch of Radiant Ore. If you’re wondering how and where to get it, here’s what you need to do.
How to Get Radiant Ore in Slime Rancher 2?
You can only get Radiant Ore once you’ve purchased the upgrade to your Resource Harvester in the Fabricator and locate Pink Gordo to unlock Ember Valley, which we will be discussing further below.
Step 1: Upgrade your Resource Harvester in the Fabricator
First of all, you will need to upgrade your Resource Harvester, which requires the following resources:
- 450 Newbucks
- 10 Cotton Plort
You can get Cotton Plort from Cotton Slimes, and you can find these slimes in a large field full of Pink and Cotton Slimes not far west of the Conservatory. You can get 2 Cotton Plorts from a single Cotton Slime if you feed it “Water Lettuce,” but you can get 1 Cotton Plort just by feeding it any vegetable.
After you’ve gathered everything, go to the Science Lab down the stairs at the back of your house and fire the Cotton Plorts into the Refinery. The next process is to interact with the Fabricator to have the Resource Harvester upgraded.
Step 2: Locate and Feed Pink Gordo
After upgrading your Resource Harvester, find the Pink Gordo Slime in Rainbow Fields. See the map below for reference.
To reach it, head west from the Conservatory over the grassy fields. If you keep heading southwest along the paths, you’ll find a Refinery depository. Move straight north from here, staying close to the right side of the terrain. At some point, the Pink Gordo will be reached through an archway in a little nook.
Now, feed the Pink Grodo 30 pieces of food until it explodes and it’ll eventually reveal a geyser. Stepping on it will lead you to a platform above and eventually reach a rainbow portal that you can activate to teleport across Ember Valley.
Radiant Ore Farm Location in Slime Rancher 2
Radiant Ore can be collected with relative ease in Ember Valley. They resemble pink, rectangular blocks that may be extracted for Radiant Ore crystals with your Resource Harvester.
Keep in mind that Radiant Ore Nodes spawn randomly but can usually be found in corners and on top of cliffs (accessible using geysers). See the marked area in the image above. You’ll have to do some exploring if you want to collect enough of these for your upgrades.
What is Radiant Ore Used for in Slime Rancher 2?
Radiant Ores can be used to upgrade your Jetpack in the Fabricator, which specifically requires 450 Newbucks, 10 Phosphor Plort, and 10 Radiant Ore.
This is a great early-game upgrade to focus on since it greatly improves the player’s movement and makes it easier to get from one part of the map to another.
