You can get a second archetype in Remnant 2, which then opens up new abilities that you can use to make your character more deadly. It’s not immediately obvious that you can even do this, so many players can play through the game just sticking to their starter archetype without realizing they can do more.
How to Equip a Second Archetype in Remnant 2?
You can equip a second archetype in Remnant 2 by acquiring an Engram, which is forged by Wallace from special materials you acquire in the game. Once you have the archetype-specific Engram you need, go to the Archetype tab and equip it in either your primary or secondary slot. This gives you your second archetype in Remnant 2.
Engrams can be forged by going to Wallace, but you’re going to need specific items to do so. Every item you need to forge an Engram for the starter archetypes can be found in Ward 13, but the items required for the secret archetypes have to be found in specific places in the game’s world. This is also how you change archetypes for your main class, if you’re interested.
If you want to be a Hunter for your second archetype, you can do so by purchasing the Rusty Medal from Brabus for 1,500 Scraps. Take the Rusty Medal to Wallace, and he can forge the Hunter Engram for you for 1,000 Scraps and 10 Lumenite Crystals.
Here are the items for each archetype you need and how you can get them:
- Medic Archetype: Purchase Medic Pin from Dr. Norah
- Hunter Archetype: Purchase Rusty Medal from Brabus
- Handler Archetype: Purchase Broken Whistle from Mudtooth
- Challenge Archetype: Purchase Old Metal Tool from Reggie
The catch is that your secondary archetype doesn’t have access to the Prime perk. Only your primary archetype can equip one so you’d best choose a perk that compliments both playstyles.
