LEGO 2K Drive Awesome Edition (Explained)

Premium editions of the game cost more than the usual so you might be asking if the Lego 2K Drive Awesome Edition is worth the extra few dollars. This latest open world racing game from the world of LEGO is offering you the chance to purchase a premium edition to get your hands on some bonuses that put you ahead of the curve. Find out what it contains and if it’s worth getting.

What’s in the LEGO 2K Drive Awesome Edition?

Here’s what you get by purchasing the LEGO 2K Drive Awesome Edition:

    • Aquadirt Racer Pack
    • Year 1 Drive Pass: Includes Season 1, 2, 3 and 4 DLC packs. the Awesome Pizza Vehicle. Release timing of the DLC contents will be revealed at a future date.
    • 550 Coins
    • Awesome Bonus Pack: Includes Wheelie Stunt Driver Minifigure, Machio Beast Vehicle and a Vehicle Flair.

Those who purchase the LEGO 2K Drive Awesome Edition will also get to play the game 3 days ahead of everyone else. So this extra perk is more for those who pre-order it.

The Year 1 Drive Pass offers all four future DLCs as part of the package. The release date for these DLCs hasn’t been revealed yet so players will have to be patient. The Awesome Edition also includes some cosmetics and 550 Coins.

Is the LEGO 2K Drive Awesome Edition Worth It?

The LEGO 2K Drive Awesome Edition isn’t worth it at all. Baring the Year 1 Drive Pass, the edition itself seems barebones with a few cosmetic options and some Coins thrown your way. It’s much too expensive to be asking $99.99 USD for it.

We don’t even know if the DLCs coming after the game’s release will be any good. Paying an extra $40 USD for it sounds quite expensive. You’re better off waiting until you get reviews online to see if the game itself is even that good before thinking about the DLCs.

To compare the prices, the LEGO 2K Drive standard edition is $59.99 USD but the Awesome Edition is $99.99 USD. That’s a large difference in price tags between the two despite the fact that the more expensive edition isn’t really offering anything we know is good at the moment. If you really want the game, just buy the standard one.
