Dragami Games has announced that its remake of Lollipop Chainsaw now has a name. It does come with bad news, unfortunately.
Lollipop Chainsaw Official Name and New Release Date Announced
Dragami Games officially announced that the remake will now be called Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. The developers also confirmed that instead of its original release window of summer 2023, it will now be launched in summer 2024.
“Although development of RePOP was carried out with the intention of a 2023 release, our commitment to providing the best possible quality experience to our players led us to making the hard decision to extend the development period in order to ensure this,” Dragami Games wrote in a statement.
“We sincerely apologize to all who had been waiting for the latest installment in the Lollipop Chainsaw series, and kindly ask for your understanding in this matter.”
The remake of Lollipop Chainsaw, then titled Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, was first announced back in 2022. It is the remake of the 2012 hack-and-slash action game from Grasshopper Manufacture. To clarify, Goichi “Suda51” Suda or writer James Gunn are NOT involved.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP launches in summer 2024. No information yet on the specific platforms supported yet.
