Fans of the Metroid Prime series were excited to relive the adventure of the game on the Nintendo Switch when Metroid Prime Remastered came out last February. However, fans have been wondering if the Fusion Suit, one of Samus’ suits, will still be making an appearance like it did in the original game.
What is the Fusion Suit in Metroid Prime?
The Fusion Suit is a version of Samus Aran’s suit in Metroid Fusion when she got injected with the Metroid vaccine after getting the X Parasite infection. Due to the suit being essentially connected to her body, the vaccine has also extended its effects to it, giving the suit a more organic look, but at the cost of Samus losing almost all of her abilities.
Back in the original Metroid Prime, players were given the opportunity to make Samus wear the suit in the game by linking their GameCube copy of Metroid Prime to their Game Boy Advance copy of Metroid Fusion after completing Metroid Prime. This suit change was purely cosmetic.
Will the Fusion Suit be available in Metroid Prime Remastered?
At the time of writing, data miners have reported that the Fusion Suit is in the game’s coding, however, it has been set to “FALSE”, which means that there is no way to get the Fusion Suit in the current version of the game.
Since we are expecting Metroid Fusion to be included in the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack in a couple of days, there is a possibility that the Fusion Suit will finally become available in Metroid Prime Remastered. Obtaining might be done in a similar fashion wherein you both need to have the base game and Metroid Fusion from the NSO Expansion Pack installed in your Switch unit.
However, there is also a possibility that the availability of the suit will be treated differently and that it might come in a future Metroid Prime Remastered DLC.
We are placing our bets on the NSO Expansion pack route since it seems to be the most obvious possibility to happen. But getting the Fusion Suit through a DLC can also be a good option as long as the DLC is offered for free. We will keep you updated once we find out in the next coming days.
