What are the NBA 2K23 MyNBA Eras?
The MyNBA Eras in NBA 2K23 allow you to play as certain teams from four different eras that shaped the history of the sport. You can control teams from those eras and build them up to be even better than they were and see how far you can take them.

The Magic vs. Bird Era MyNBA
The Magic vs. Bird era takes you back to the 80’s when a fierce competition between the two helped place NBA into the spotlight. This was a time when young prospect, Michael Jordan, was a rising figure in the sport.
During this era, zone defense is banned. Playing with this era enabled will give you a more vintage overlay as well as unique 80’s commentary which help make the scene more authentic.
The Jordan Era MyNBA
Michael Jordan was the GOAT in the 90’s of NBA. There’s not a single basketball player who hasn’t heard of him. You know you’re good when you have an entire era named after you. On this era, you’ll see Michael Jordan’s rise to popularity in the sport along side Shaquille O’ Neil.
During the Jordan era, zone defense still isn’t allowed and won’t be until 2001. However hand-checking was allowed in 1996. With this era enabled, you’ll play with a more advanced overlay representation of the time period associated along with new uniforms and floors to go along.
The Kobe Era MyNBA
The Kobe era takes place in the 2000’s when several basketball figures established their legendary careers. This was the time period when social media became a game changer for the sport and the NBA league expanded into six different divisions. It was during the Kobe era when new rules were established that carried all the way to NBA today.
Playing with this era enabled, you’ll get advanced overlays specific to the time period with new clothing and unique commentary.
The Modern Era MyNBA
The Modern era is the NBA we all know today. Major changes happened during this era. During the late 2010’s, a simplified timeout system was implemented and coaches can challenge calls. Also NBA All-Star introduced fixed scoring endings.
With the Modern era enabled, you’ll get the modern overlay with unique commentary and new uniforms to go along with it.
