The Architect is one of the side quests in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. This side quest involves solving the different puzzles scattered across Mount Qaf to obtain the Mystery Chests and unlock a greater secret. Side Quest Objectives:
Maryam the Architect
Maryam is the architect appointed by King Darius to create the traps and puzzles found in Mount Qaf in the purpose of thwarting off raiders and invaders. She can be reached at the chamber southwest of the Night Temple which can only be accessed with the Fabric of Time, although it is not necessary to talk to her before solving any of the puzzles.
Solving each puzzle will reward a Mystery Chest. They will also show rune symbols and numbers which can be seen on the map once they are solved. These runes are linked to the final puzzle which is at the chamber where Maryam is at.
Mystery Chest #1
Mystery Chest #1 is located at Lower City, west of the Haven and the elevator shaft. To solve this puzzle, you must shoot an arrow towards the same direction where both of the statues are aiming at. Once done, you will get the chest that contains the Zurvan’s Voice amulet.
Mystery Chest #2
Mystery Chest #2 is located at the east side of the Hyrcanian Forest. To solve this puzzle, you will need to cut down all of the grass on the four platforms before they regrow. Once done, you will get the chest that contains a Soma Tree Petal.
Mystery Chest #3
Mystery Chest #3 is located at the south side of the Sacred Archives. To solve this puzzle, you will need to crouch on the empty spot near the alchemists. Once done, you will get the chest that contains a Soma Tree Petal.
Mystery Chest #4
Mystery Chest #4 is located at the center of the Tower of Silence. To solve this puzzle, stand on the spot where the fragments of the structure align once more, then throw your chakram to the middle of this structure. Once done, you will get the chest that contains a Soma Tree Petal.
Mystery Chest #5
Mystery Chest #5 is located at the southeast side of the Pit of Eternal Sands. To solve this puzzle, you must first grab a stone sentinel using the Dimensional Claw. Stone sentinels can be found in the Upper City. Then, go to the chamber where the mystery chest is and drop the stone sentinel down where it can be crushed by the traps. Once done, you will get the chest that contains a Soma Tree Petal.
Mystery Chest #6
Mystery Chest #6 is located at the southeast side of the Sunken Harbor. To solve this puzzle, you need to throw your chakram at the top left corner of the tic-tac-toe grid. Once done, the chest will appear which turns out to be a mimic. Defeating the mimic will reward you with the Ard’s Fortune amulet.
Mystery Chest #7
Mystery Chest #7 is located in the center of the Hyrcanian Forest. To solve this puzzle, remove the small stone statue using Dimensional Rift and move the green statue on the right pedestal facing to the left. Next, go to the upper level and grab the red statue and place it on the left pedestal facing to the right. Finally, go to the bottom level to find the yellow statue and place it on the middle pedestal facing to the right. Once done, you will get the chest that contains an Azure Damascus Ingot.
Mystery Chest #8
Mystery Chest #8 is located in the east side of the Catacombs. To solve this puzzle, you will need to activate both face sculptures by leaving a shadow on one of them, then jumping towards the other sculpture and immediately returning back to your shadow. Once done, you will get the chest that contains the Shockwave amulet.
Mystery Chest #9
Mystery Chest #9 is located at the north side of the Sacred Archives. To solve this puzzle, you will need to activate the runed walls in a specific pattern.
This pattern can be seen on a wall in a room east of the Temple of Knowledge Homa Statue. Once done, you will get the chest that contains an Amulet Holder.
The Architect’s Final Puzzle
Once you have solved all of the puzzles and obtained all of the chests, return to the chamber where Maryam is.
To solve the final puzzle, you will need to hit the floating runes by increasing order based on how they are numbered on the map. After doing the right order, a portal to Maryam’s workshop will appear.
From here, you can get the Collectible – Astronomical Mechanism, Collectible – Mathematical Formula, Collectible – Official Scroll: Royal Decree, and Collectible – The Architect and the King. Finally, go to the balcony to get the chest that contains a full Soma Petal Flower.
