There is no such thing as ‘coincidence’ in Remnant 2. Even the smallest change is a sign that there is something deeper that we don’t quite know about yet. And that something is usually tied to one or more of the game’s secrets.
In this guide, we’ll tell you how you can find Retreat’s Horizon in Remnant 2. The ‘world’ itself isn’t tied to any physical location. It is a manifestation of one of the game’s most prominent figures, Nimue.
Before we talk about how to get to Retreat’s Horizon, we first need to talk about the tools you need. For this little endeavor, we’ll need the Dreamcatcher secret melee weapon. If you don’t know where to get it, we suggest checking out our guide on how to get the Invader Archetype. There, you’ll find detailed steps on how to get the Dreamcatcher.
How to find Retreat’s Horizon in Remnant 2
To get to Retreat’s Horizon, we need a consumable item called Nimue’s Dream. You can find Nimue in the location known as Nimue’s Retreat. It is present in both the Asylum and Palace tilesets. But while the location is a critical part of the Asylum storyline, it should be noted that it is easier to find on the Palace map due to it being a hidden optional location that you can get to early.
This next part is a little tricky. It requires you to catch Nimue sleeping on the job as they say. No, really. When you visit Nimue again after meeting her for the first time, she can be found napping on the audience platform. This doesn’t happen very often so consider it a rare event.
If you stay close to her, she will wake up and greet you as normal. At that point, however, you’ll have missed your chance to get to Retreat’s Horizon. Should that happen, go back to the World Crystal and go back to Ward 13. Return if you think that the event is active again.
Note: It would appear that game events in Remnant 2 run on some internal clock. It’s not a simple matter of going back to Ward 13 and immediately going back. If you get the same event twice in a row, consider yourself lucky.
Dreamcatcher in hand, walk up to the sleeping Goddess of the Fae and press the ‘attack’ button near her bracelet. This will play a unique animation which will result in you getting the Nimue’s Dream consumable item.
Equip the consumable and use it. You will then be transported to Retreat’s Horizon.
Retreat’s Horizon is a world where calm waters stretch out as far as the eye can see in all directions. There are only two notable ‘landmarks’ on the map. The solidary checkpoint crystal and a distant Nebula on the horizon.
How to Get Anamy’s Echo in Remnant 2
There is only one item of interest that the player can obtain while in Retreat’s Horizon, and that item is called Anamy’s Echo.
If you turn the camera around, there’s really nothing else to see in this location. So, let’s just throw caution to the wind and head in the direction of the Nebula.
Step off the island and start making your way across the waters using the Nebula as a bearing. There’s no need to worry about falling into the water… at least in this direction. Keep walking until you see something glowing in the distance. That’s the glow of the item we are here to obtain.
Once you’ve picked up Anamy’s Echo retrace your steps and head back to the checkpoint crystal and then to Ward 13. Pay McCabe and she’ll craft the Crescent Moon Bow for you using the materials you give her.
And that’s all there is to it. Hopefully, this simple guide has helped you out on your quest to get everything Remnant 2 has to offer. And if you’re interested in more Nimue secrets, check out our article covering the Tranquil Heart Relic.
