Spider Man Across the Spider Verse Part One delayed to next year according to Sony Pictures in a new announcement, while Part Two gets a theatrical release date.
The Into the Spider Verse sequel has been delayed again according to Variety and this time it will now be scheduled to release in the middle of next year, June 2, 2023. Originally, it was going to release sometime in April 2022 when Sony Pictures released a visual teaser of the sequel. It was later announced to be delayed to October 2022. Now, it is going even further.
Besides the bad news of the delay, there is a flip side to this. There is now an official theatrical release date for Spider Man Across the Spider Verse Part Two, which is on March 29, 2024. Unless, of course, if Sony Pictures decides to delay this as well in the near future. Let’s hope not.
Both titles will screen in premium large formats and IMAX. Across the Spider Verse will still star Miles Morales and will continue the story of his adventures with Gwen Stacy in another multiverse. Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson will be co-directing while Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham will do the screenplay.
Spider Man Across the Spider Verse Part One delayed to June 2, 2023 while Part Two will get released in theaters on March 29, 2024.
