Sucker Punch recently shared an update about some certain servers and they kind of also revealed some bad news for fans of two popular franchises.
Sucker Punch Maintenance on inFamous 2 Servers
The game studio recently posted a blog on their official website discussing about the maintenance on the inFamous 2 UGC servers. They are going to move them to a new home so that it could keep them running a little bit longer since there are still a lot of fans playing the game. They have plans to “sunset” these servers, but for now they are going to keep them running for as long as possible for players are still playing.
Cole’s Legacy DLC
Sucker Punch also revealed that they are going to put Cole’s Legacy DLC for inFamous Second Son on the PlayStation Store in all territories to make it available for them. This was only available as part of the Collector’s Edition.
A Look Back
The studio thanked the community for supporting them all this time, for more than 24 years and now they are approaching the 25th year since they first opened. They are proud to look back on the legacy of characters and stories they have created all these years like Rocket: Robot on Wheels, Sly Cooper, and inFamous.
No Plans on Revisiting
Now, everyone was wondering if they are planning something since they mentioned these characters. Unfortunately, Sucker Punch were quick to “sucker punch” their fans in the gut to give them a dose of reality. They revealed that they are currently working on a new project and it requires them its full attention so, it is sad to say that there are no plans to revisit inFamous or Sly Cooper right now despite the many rumors flying around online.
Sucker Punch was really clear to state that there are no studios working on these franchises and the studio itself is not working on any inFamous or Sly Cooper game. So, there goes the hopes and dreams of fans of the franchises and time to move on.
Down the Road
The studio did say they are currently busy with this new project of theirs that they are not sharing any info on, but maybe after launching this game, they might reconsider it. “These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road,” they said, talking about Sly Cooper and inFamous franchise.
It could happen one day, but not this time around.
