The Title SMG is back during this year’s Guardian Games. The refreshed Season 20 aggressive frame SMG comes with a new perk pool including the standout perk, Repulsor Brace. But The Title SMG god roll search also comes with good and bad news. The good news is that you don’t have to think about god rolls too much with this gun. There isn’t much to work with so your farms are narrowed down considerably. The bad news is that The Immortal is still a thing.
The Title Base Stats
These are the weapon’s stats before any perks are applied:
- Impact: 23
- Range: 40
- Stability: 20
- Handling: 48
- Reload Speed: 23
- Zoom: 15
- Rounds Per Minute: 750
- Magazine: 28
The Title doesn’t stand out as much as it should be as a weapon that’s only available for 3 weeks in a year. And with the Immortal SMG (Adept) out there in the wild, it’s got work cut out for it. The Title does come with a roll of Dynamic Sway Reduction and Rangefinder. So we might as see how that hangs with the Immortal before they are all nerfed next season.
Update:
The only advantage the gun has over the Immortal is the fact that it has one more zoom than the Immortal. And for some reason that gives it a better feel in the user’s hands (From our experience.) We falsely assumed that the gun won’t have a shadow of a chance against The Immortal. We were glad to be proven wrong. The Title has won its place as a contender for SMG of the season at the tail end of Season 20.
How to Get The Title in Destiny 2
You have the chance to get a curated roll of The Title SMG by completing the “in It to Win It” triumph from the seasonal event card. You will be able to get a random roll of the weapon by banking in Medallions at the podium in the Tower.
Eva has a god roll The Title SMG waiting for you after completing the steps of her event quest.
The Title SMG Perk Pool

- Pugilist
- Offhand Strike
- Shot Swap
4th Column perks

- Vorpal Weapon

The Title SMG God Roll for PvP
- 1st Column: Smallbore
- 2nd Column: Ricochet Rounds
- Range Masterwork
- Dynamic Sway Reduction + Rangefinder (Not even the Immortal SMG can get this roll.)
- Threat Detector + Rangefinder (Another classic god roll for Crucible players who like it up close and personal.)
- Perpetual Motion + Rangefinder (This is the roll Eva gives you as a reward. It is very deadly in PvP.)
Update:
Bungie has really outdone itself. Not only is The Title SMG a lot better than last year’s offering, but it is also slowly taking the crown away from The Immortal SMG. And it all boiled down to one stat: Zoom. Time and time again, zoom has proven itself to be a kingmaker in the PvP meta. With its 15 zoom, The Title has essentially beaten The Immortal with its 14 zoom. This will probably keep aggressive frame enthusiasts happy until their favorite archetype gets nerfed next season.
Another factor is that getting The Immortal SMG god roll requires going flawless once in Trials and using whatever resources you have to RNG into existence a 5/5 Adept god roll. In the case of The Title, all you need to do is take part in the Guardian Games, dunk a whole heap of medals and a 5/5 god roll will eventually fall onto your lap. That’s kind of crazy.
Eva’s reward for her introductory quest will grant you this near 4/5 god roll. You can still look for one with a Range Masterwork. But for intents and purposes, this is the roll to beat at the moment. Only the Dynamic Sway god roll can come close in terms of effectiveness.
Additionally, Eva’s roll comes with Envious Assassin and Repulsor Brace, two very handy perks that have their place in most PvE content. They don’t necessarily pair well with each other considering you want your weapon with Repulsor Brace out all the time for when you debuff enemies with Void effects. And you don’t want to bring out your weapon with Envious Assassin until you have some kills with your other weapons first.
The Title SMG God Roll for PvE
- 1st Column: Hammer-Forged Rifling
- 2nd Column: Flared Magwell
- Range masterwork
- Threat Detector + Repulsor Brace
- Perpetual Motion + Repulsor Brace
- Threat Detector + Surrounded
If Repulsor Brace wasn’t a thing, we’d say that there are no PvE god rolls for The Title SMG. Well, it can roll Repulsor Brace and that’s more than enough. Other than that, you can look for a roll that has Threat Detector and Swashbuckler. It’s a far second but who knows? You might just like the feel of it.
Update:
A combination of Threat Detector and Surrounded is proving to be quite effective when dealing with ads. All you need to do for these two perks to activate is to be near 3 or more enemies. You’re looking at a straight-up 40% increase in damage and fast reload speed.
And that’s all we have for this The Title SMG god roll guide. It’s really cut and dry with this weapon. Admittedly, there aren’t that many perks that sell the gun as a prime option but the god rolls that it can come with rival that of any aggressive frame SMG in terms of effectiveness. (At least until Aggressive frames and Rangefinder are nerfed to the ground.)
At the end of the day, you are either going to commit time to chase after that perfect 5/5 god roll. Or you can ignore that rest cause the weapon you get for just doing the event quest is good enough. (It’s more than good enough.)
If there are any more rolls of interest that might drop for us, we will update this article accordingly. We will also be trying some “out there” perk combinations just cause we get so many to drop. Maybe one or two of them might end up being surprise god rolls in hiding.
