Microsoft has now rolled out the new Xbox February Update today and will be available to download on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

According to the official Xbox Wire website, the new Xbox February Update will implement the carbon-aware game downloads and updates feature, allowing players to choose the energy settings. It also introduces the ability to hide game art when selecting tiles on the Xbox Home background. Lastly, it allows the Google Home app as a touch remote control for the console.

The first update is the implementation of the carbon-aware game downloads and updates feature. The console will now be able to schedule game, app, and OS updates for it at specific times at night to lower carbon emissions. It decreases fossil fuel dependency and CO2 emissions and can save money.

The second update is giving players the ability to hide game art when selecting tiles on Home. Some players find game art distracting while others like to have a simplified background while exploring the Home screen. This new feature will allow them to hide the game art so it will not replace the Home background each time they move to select a game tile. It will now be a solid color of their choice.

The last update is using the Google Home app as a touch remote control for the Xbox console. Xbox has now partnered with Google to make this possible. Adding the Xbox console to the Google Home app will make it easier to turn off the console and on, navigate on-screen, control media playback, and more.
