The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Gutanbac Shrine Guide

The Gutanbac Shrine is among the various shrines present on the Great Sky Island in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The shrine is located in the snowy part of the islands, and it can be puzzling for some to figure out how to get there. However, reaching the shrine and obtaining one of the ancient abilities from it will make future climbs easier.

Read ahead as we go through the steps on how to reach the Gutanbac Shrine and solve its challenge in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to reach the Gutanbac Shrine

After completing the In-Isa Shrine from the south, make your way to the snowy region northeast of where you are. You would want to travel until you reach the source of the river or the waterfall in the area.

Once you see the waterfall, take the path to the left that goes under the waterfall. The cliff where the waterfall is coming from has all of its rock faces covered in slippery ice except for one climbable path that is beside the waterfall itself.

Once you reach the top of the cliff, you will be able to see the Gutanbac Shrine a few distance away.

How to solve the Gutanbac Shrine

Upon entering the Gutanbac Shrine, you will be given the Ascend ability which lets you travel through solid material upwards to reach a higher level.

Inside the main chamber of the shrine, walk up ahead and test your new ability by using it below the space in the wall. Then, use Ascend and you will start swimming upwards to the floor above; if you don’t start climbing up, try repositioning until you see that the grid above your head turns green.

Do this again on the platforms jutting out of the wall. The smaller platform has a chest with a stone axe inside, the tall platform takes you to the top. Defeat the construct ahead and then check wall on the right, break the crates, then use the Ascend ability again. Up top, you can get a chest that contains a Construct Bow.

For the final puzzle, you will see a bridge held up with two ropes. Cut the ropes with your weapon and then go underneath the bridge. Use Ascend to go above the bridge, then go to the shrine statues to receive your Light of Blessing.

After completing the shrine, continue traveling north where you will find a platform where you can use the Zonai Wings to get back to the Temple of Time.
