3 Big Reasons Why the PS4 Pro will Outsell the Xbox One X

It can be a big game-changer when the latter outsells the former. But that’s likely to happen when Microsoft’s so-called “most powerful” console gets some first-party games to make it a good choice when it launches later this year. While both of the consoles do run at 4K, they do have these differences that can make you want the system.

However, here are the 3 major things why the PS4 Pro will surely outsell the most-powerful console this generation.

PricingIt’s clear that with more features and beefy hardware, you would expect a price-point of about $499/$500. But in console tradition, which Sony did learn from their past mistake with the PS3’s pricing, it should be an affordable gaming system. PS4 Pro shines at a $399 price tag, and most likely will have a price drop for $50-$75 when Microsoft’s sleeping giant wakes up later this year.

For a $499/500 price, the Xbox One X is not really “true” 4K as what Microsoft initially advertised. Why do I dare say this? When Microsoft announced that the Xbox One X will deliver true 4K, all of us expected that all of its games will run at native 4K at a frame-rate target of either 30FPS or 60FPS, but it seems that Xbox One X can’t handle third-party demanding games like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Anthem as both of the games will use the checkboard rendering technique that the PS4 Pro has taken advantage of.

Diverse First-Party LibraryOne of the reason why we pick up a console is its exclusives. Microsoft has yet to announce their new IPs and sequels anytime soon (probably at Gamescom), but will it be something new? We hope so, but in this current state, Sony has a lot of first-party titles coming which includes Spider-Man, Detroit: Become Human, Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, Days Gone, God of War, and The Last of Us Part II. Should I list some more, including its released titles like Horizon: Zero Dawn? I don’t actually have to.

Games like NiOh, Gravity Rush 2, and Horizon: Zero Dawn have proven its quality and Sony’s first-party studios have been pretty consistent with its quality. Unlike Microsoft’s ReCore, it didn’t do well unfortunately.

PlayStation VRThe cheapest and cost-efficient piece of VR equipment you can have this generation that definitely takes advantage of the PS4 Pro’s power. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard took this opportunity to make use of the hardware. Ace Combat 7 will also feature a VR mode exclusively on PSVR. So, if you want an affordable console that has a VR device, then PS4 Pro is the choice.

It’s quite disappointing that Xbox One X didn’t reveal anything about its VR device or even the Holo-Lens. Bummer.
