The Combined Action is a brand new Arc Hand Cannon introduced in Destiny 2 Season of the Deep. It is rocking a 120 RPM aggressive frame, meaning that if you land your shots right, you can practically two-tap any Guardian no matter their resilience. The most interesting aspect of this weapon is its raw stopping power and the ways to improve it. The most glaring drawback is its relatively long reload time, making this a pure 1 vs 1 dueling weapon.
How to get the Combined Action in Destiny 2?
The Combined Action hand cannon is a world drop weapon from the Season of the Deep onwards. Although it should be noted that the loot pool for world weapons is so deep that it is unlikely that you’ll get many random rolls of this weapon.
You can also get some rolls from Banshee-44 at the tower. Check back with him every day to he might have the Combined Action in stock with different rolls.
Best Combined Action PvP God Roll
- 1st Column: Smallbore
- 2nd Column: Accurized Rounds
- Stability Masterwork
- Quick Access Sling
- Tunnel Vision + Kill Clip (This combination is all about getting a kill and then reloading before getting into another engagement. It’s going to take a bit of practice to get the timing right but you will be rewarded greatly for your patience.)
- Zen Moment + Agadio (This is all about Adagio. Zen moment is nice to have if you manage to get a body shot or two, but you really want to get those headshots with this kind of weapon. For this roll, you can get Eddy Current or Perfect Float as substitutes.)
The roll pictured above is one that Banshee-44 was selling on a 24-hour cycle. We just got lucky with this roll on a random visit to Banshee.
PvP Tips:
Adagio is the clear winner for this hand cannon. When Adagio is active, this hand cannon hits for 104 on the head. Two tapping is very possible outside of Guardians in their Supers. The biggest drawback of Adagio for most weapons is the fact that the RPM drop is quite noticeable. But not on a 120 RPM hand cannon. You can barely notice the drop from 120 to 110 RPM. You can get the same results with Kill Clip but Adagio only requires a kill and you probably won’t have all the time in the world to reload and take advantage of Kill Clip.
Stability is the make-or-break stat for this weapon. With range coming in at a close second. The best rolls of Combined Action will most likely have 40+ stability and 60+ range. You have the option to go all out on range but the moment you take any amount of chip damage, that reticle is going to jump wildly.
Eddy Current is a very odd perk. It’s supposed to increase reload speed after sprinting but we can’t difference no matter how long we’ve used it in PvP or PvE. We’re assuming it’s bugged as the Field-Tested Origin Perk overrides pretty much everything at x4. In fact, we’ve noticed a reload speed slowdown when Eddy Current is activated when Field-Tested should have greatly increased the reload speed.
Best Combined Action PvE God Roll
- 1st Column: Arrowhead Break
- 2nd Column: Tactical Mag
- Range Masterwork
- Backup Mag Mod
- Eddy Current + Voltshot (This combination is fully leaning on the Arc subclass. We’ve two perks that benefit from being amplified. We can’t vouch for the usefulness of Eddy Current but you don’t have many options to choose from.)
- Hip-fire Grip + Timed Payload (This is more of a fun combo than anything else. It’s not going to light up the scoreboard but at least you can pretend to fan the hammer while watching secondary explosions go off. Not bad but certainly not the best)
PvE Tips:
It’s hard enough to find a place for a 120 hand cannon for PvE activities, it’s even harder when you don’t really have many options to go with. Voltshot is going to be your go-to perk overall followed by Timed Payload. You don’t need to force yourself to get one of these rolls. If you happen to pick one up, give it a try and see if you like how it feels.
Unless you’re looking for something that stuns Champions and an Arc Surge is active, we don’t believe it has much of a place in end-game PvE content. But we’d like to be proven wrong. It is a cool hand cannon, after all.
How good is the Combined Action Hand Cannon?
The Combined Action is a cool addition to your arsenal if you happen to be a hand cannon enthusiast. However, it won’t move the needle much for you if you don’t already vibe with the Aggressive Frames. It also won’t take Rose’s job anytime soon. It’s just a fun weapon to bring out every so often if you feel like double tapping is in the cards for that Crucible session.
The best reason to get this weapon is for its Field-Test Origin Trait. It is hands-down one of the best Origin Traits for most both PvP and PvE.
These are the Combined Action Stats before any perks are applied:
- Impact: 92
- Range: 54
- Stability: 26
- Handling: 23
- Reload Speed: 32
- Zoom: 14
- Rounds Per Minute: 120
- Magazine: 8
The stats spread is pretty ok for its archetype. Its base stability is kind of low. It’ll definitely be in your best interest to bring it up above 40 so that flinch doesn’t affect you so much. The rest will depend on your aiming ability.
3rd column perks
- Hip-fire Grip
- Zen Moment
- Eddy Current
- No Distractions
- Tunnel Vision
- Perfect Float
4th column perks
- Voltshot
- Timed Payload
- Offhand Strike
- Kill Clip
- Air Assault
- Adagio
And that’s everything we have right now for this Combined Action god roll guide. There are still a couple of things to test with this weapon, and we may have to update it in the future. It’s just that getting random rolls of this weapon to drop in the world is rare. But don’t stress yourself to getting a god roll of this weapon. It’s just nice to have if the Nine happen to smile upon you. Good luck and have fun out there, Guardians!
