Assassin’s Creed Mirage Map Smaller Than Recent AC Titles

Ubisoft has officially confirmed the Assassin’s Creed Mirage map size and it is not that large.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Map Going Back to Roots

Recent Assassin’s Creed titles have really large maps which offer exploration, tons of sidequests, challenges, and more. While it is fun to have a lot of things to do within the map, over time it gets pretty boring to play for players. The latest Assassin’s Creed Mirage game is returning to its roots, which means it includes the map.

    Map Smaller Than Paris

According to an interview with Easy Allies, it was revealed that AC Mirage’s map is nowhere near the size of Valhalla’s or Odyssey’s maps. The closer in size is Unity’s Paris or Revelations’ Constantinople. A Ubisoft spokesperson explained that this year’s Assassin’s Creed will not just be revisiting its stealth origins, but also returning to the series’ roots in terms of map size.

“They compared it specifically to Constantinople in Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Paris in Assassin’s Creed Unity,” said Easy Allies’ Michael Huber.

    Hardcore Fans Welcome This Change

For hardcore fans of Assassin’s Creed, players who have gone through the classic titles like Assassin’s Creed 1 until AC 3, maps that are smaller in size are a welcome change. They are more familiar with the smaller maps that they could easily traverse to locate and mark their targets, just like in the early days. Since AC Mirage is going back to its roots, having a smaller map just makes sense.

The change started in 2017 Origins when Assassin’s Creed switched to RPG gameplay. This continued to Odyssey and Valhalla, which made the game community divided.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage launches on October 12, 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
