There are hidden characters in AEW: Fight Forever that you can unlock. These wrestlers won’t be available to play at the start of the game, but you can unlock them with a bit of patience and skill. You just have to know how to unlock the hidden characters in AEW: Fight Forever if you want to play as them.
There are a total of five hidden wrestlers in AEW: Fight Forever, plus one DLC character, and each has its own set of unlock conditions. Read ahead and this guide will show you the fastest way to unlock each AEW: Fight Forever hidden character.
Aubrey Edwards
Despite being the official referee, Aubrey Edwards is one of the hidden characters you can unlock. To unlock her, just go to the store and purchase Aubrey for 20,000 AEW dollars. You may find it awkward to play as her while she’s refereeing the whole match but you can switch the ref to Rick Knox by going to the Options menu.
Cody Rhodes
Otherwise known as “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes makes a surprise appearance as part of the AEW: Fight Forever roster as a hidden character despite his move to WWE. He’s the only wrestler to be in both Fight Forever and WWE 2K23.
Unlocking Cody Rhodes is straightforward, just head to the store and purchase him with 10,000 AEW dollars.
Matt Hardy
While Matt Hardy isn’t exactly one of the AEW: Fight Forever hidden characters, you can’t find him as a normal part of the roster. You’ll have to purchase Matt as DLC content for $4.99 if you want to play as him.
Mr. Brodie Lee
This hidden wrestler can take a bit of luck to unlock as Mr. Brodie Lee can only be gotten as part of your roster by playing through the Road to Elite game mode. The conditions to unlock him may not appear on your playthrough as you need to be given the option to Join The Dark Order storyline. This won’t always happen so you’ll need to try again.
When you do get The Dark Order storyline, you need to beat Brodie Lee at the TNT championship. You can then buy him for 30,000 AEW dollars at the store.
Owen Hart
Unlocking Owen Hart involves playing 100 matches in Exhibition mode. It’s a straightforward process that will involve some patience on your part. After, you can buy him at the Store for 50,000 AEW dollars.
Paul Wight
Paul Wight is possibly the hardest of the AEW: Fight Forever wrestler to unlock. You’ll need to play the Road to Elite game mode and then get the “Who’s Ribbing Me?” storyline. You may get a better chance by starting Road to Elite as Dustin Rhodes and then purposefully losing the first three fights to trigger “Who’s Ribbing Me?”
Once you do get the storyline to trigger, Paul Wight will fight you on the third week. But to unlock him, there’s a special condition you need to fulfill. You need to beat Paul Wight in three minutes to unlock him as a wrestler. This is harder than it sounds because he’s got all so many signature and finisher moves that he won’t hesitate to use on you. Paul will also resist any grappling moves you do on him.
To avoid losing this chance, just quit the match if you only have 15 seconds left to go and try again. The best way to win against Paul Wight with the conditions, is to count him out of the ring. Keep taunting Paul until he’s finally had enough and leaves the ring. Use this chance to throw him to whatever barricade is closest. You’ll have to keep repeating this until the referee is almost finish counting then leap back into the ring.
After beating Paul Wight under 3 minutes in Road to Elite, you can purchase him for 30,000 AEW dollars in the Store.
